FBI ‘Finds’ New Documents About Clinton-Lynch Tarmac Meeting

Judicial Watch, the non-profit organization that created so much consternation for Hillary Clinton during the email server scandal, is still stirring the pot with more FOIA requests.

This time they’ve nailed the FBI on another instance of apparent obstruction of justice.

After the reportedly happen-stance run-in Bill Clinton had with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the tarmac, Judicial Watch filed a FOIA request for FBI documents concerning the scandal.

The FBI reported they had nothing, which itself was suspicious.

Then suddenly in a completely separate suit and FOIA filing, the FBI curiously ‘found’ new documents related to the meeting. Hmm, that’s weird.

Stay tuned for more details on what those documents might reveal.

Here’s more from Daily Caller…

The FBI has found 30 pages of documents related to the June 2016 airport tarmac meeting between Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch, even after the bureau claimed to not have any records related to the matter.

FBI lawyers revealed the existence of the records in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, the conservative watchdog group.

The FBI had informed Judicial Watch last October that the bureau did not have any records related to the June 27, 2016 meeting between Clinton and Lynch. That encounter, which occurred on the tarmac at Phoenix’s airport, was significant because it took place while the Justice Department was investigating Hillary Clinton’s potential mishandling of classified information on her private email account.

Though the FBI told Judicial Watch that it did not have records related to the meeting, the Justice Department revealed in response to a separate lawsuit filed by the watchdog that some of its officials had been in contact with FBI officials about the Clinton-Lynch encounter.

In August, the Justice Department released emails showing some of its officials exchanging emails with the FBI regarding the meeting. And in a July 1, 2016, email, Justice Department official Caroline Pokomy told colleagues that “FBI is asking for guidance” on the controversy.

After the release of those documents, the FBI acknowledged that it had possession of some records related to the meeting. The bureau’s attorneys informed Judicial Watch that, “Upon further review, we subsequently determined potentially responsive documents may exist.”

Pence Leaves Colts Game After 49ers Kneel During Anthem

Vice President Mike Pence just poured gasoline on the national anthem fire this weekend after walking out on the 49ers versus Colts game.

In the pregame show, the 49ers took a knee during the anthem, and it was more than Pence could stomach. He tweeted later, “I left today’s Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.”

Up to now, this was a fight between the NFL and Trump.

But Pence escalated the situation and brightened the spotlight on the issue.

What’s more, Pence has a fairly ironclad reputation as, more or less, a Boy Scout.

Which lends all the more weight to the plight of discontented NFL fans.

Here’s more from Daily Signal…

Vice President Mike Pence left an NFL game Sunday after around 20 players took a knee during the national anthem.

Pence departed the Indianapolis Colts game when the San Francisco 49ers’ players knelt during the playing of the “Star Spangled Banner.” The vice president, following in the footsteps of President Donald Trump, criticized the players for their disrespect on Twitter.

He concluded his posts with a simple statement: “I stand with President Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our flag and our national anthem.”

ICE Director to California: Get Ready for ‘At-large Arrests’

On Friday, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law a measure that disallows state and local police from cooperating with federal ICE officials in enforcing federal immigration law.

What’s more, the new law gives safe haven to illegal immigrants, whether criminal or not.

That move has put ICE in a position of no compromise.

ICE Director Thomas Homan explained in a statement on Friday that agents are left with no option but to conduct large-scale raids in California to compensate for the lack of support from state officials.

That also means that far more arrests will be made in lieu of local ‘arrest-and-hold’ policies that otherwise would detain illegal immigrants prior to transferring them to federal custody.

It’s a powder keg waiting to explode.

Here’s more from The Hill…

The country’s top immigration cop said Friday his agents “will have no choice” but to conduct workplace and neighborhood immigration raids in light of California’s new sanctuary law.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Thomas Homan said in a statement Friday that California Gov. Jerry Brown’s (D) decision to sign the law, SB54, would “undermine public safety and hinder ICE from performing its federally mandated mission.”

Under California’s new law, state and local police will have major restrictions in how and when they can collaborate with federal agents on immigration investigations and arrests.

One notable provision in the law is it prohibits so-called immigration holds, requests from ICE to local authorities to hold a prisoner or detainee longer than the constitutionally mandated period.

Opponents say a hold, also known as a detainer, constitutes a violation of a detainee’s constitutional rights, and their enforcement puts local authorities at risk of liability.

Supporters, chief among them Homan and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, say detainers are necessary so arrests of dangerous immigrants can be made in the confines of jails and prisons.

“ICE will have no choice but to conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at work sites, which will inevitably result in additional collateral arrests, instead of focusing on arrests at jails and prisons where transfers are safer for ICE officers and the community,” Homan warned.

What Hack? IRS Awards Massive Federal Contract Equifax

In a decision that completely defies logic, the IRS announced this week that it has awarded a non-competitive multi-million contract to Equifax for the purpose of fraud prevention.

Yep, you read that right.

The very corporation that less than a month ago was rocked by its second security breach which exposed the personal data of more than 145 million Americans will now be handling the tax information of untold millions more.

Sen. Orrin Hatch blasted the IRS, “In the wake of one of the most massive data breaches in a decade, it’s irresponsible for the IRS to turn over millions in taxpayer dollars to a company that has yet to offer a succinct answer on how at least 145 million Americans had personally identifiable information exposed.”

That’s the understatement of the year.

We’re waiting for Congress to call a spade a spade and finally disband the rogue agency.

Here’s more from Politico…

The IRS will pay Equifax $7.25 million to verify taxpayer identities and help prevent fraud under a no-bid contract issued last week, even as lawmakers lash the embattled company about a massive security breach that exposed personal information of as many as 145.5 million Americans.

A contract award for Equifax’s data services was posted to the Federal Business Opportunities database Sept. 30 — the final day of the fiscal year. The credit agency will “verify taxpayer identity” and “assist in ongoing identity verification and validations” at the IRS, according to the award.

The notice describes the contract as a “sole source order,” meaning Equifax is the only company deemed capable of providing the service. It says the order was issued to prevent a lapse in identity checks while officials resolve a dispute over a separate contract.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle blasted the IRS decision.

“In the wake of one of the most massive data breaches in a decade, it’s irresponsible for the IRS to turn over millions in taxpayer dollars to a company that has yet to offer a succinct answer on how at least 145 million Americans had personally identifiable information exposed,” Senate Finance Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah)told POLITICO in a statement.

The committee’s ranking member, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), piled on: “The Finance Committee will be looking into why Equifax was the only company to apply for and be rewarded with this. I will continue to take every measure possible to prevent taxpayer data from being compromised as this arrangement moves forward.”

The IRS defended its decision in a statement, saying that Equifax told the agency that none of its data was involved in the breach and that Equifax already provides similar services to the IRS under a previous contract.

Issues, Politics

Republicans Rebuff Dems Piling on Gun Control Debate

Republicans in Congress are pushing back on Democrats’ attempts to use the Vegas shooting as the latest cause celebre for gun control.

Sen. John Cornyn slammed, “I just think politicizing this terrible tragedy is beyond disgusting and we ought to wait a respect full period of time…before we get into the push and shove of politics around here.”

Others are pointing to the obvious: we aren’t even certain yet how Paddock obtained all the 23 weapons used in his rampage.

But Democrats have an even larger uphill battle.

The last attempts to pass gun control legislation were abandoned because Democrats couldn’t muster enough votes from their own party.

And maybe there’s an obvious reason why.

If Paddock were dead-set on murdering lots of people and gun laws would have theoretically prevented him from getting guns, he could easily have just driven a large truck into the crowd or run through it with knives in-hand.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

Republicans signaled Monday that they weren’t close to considering a new gun control bill anytime soon, even in the face of pressure from Democrats who say the Las Vegas shooting that killed 59 people means it’s time for Congress to act.

It’s a sign the GOP will once again rebuff efforts to pass any gun bill that Democrats have been seeking in the wake of a string of mass shootings around the nation.

“I just think politicizing this terrible tragedy is beyond disgusting and we ought to wait a respect full period of time, out of respect for people who lost their lives or were injured before we get into the push and shove of politics around here,” said Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, when asked about the possibility of a bill.

Sen. Mike Rounds, R-S.D., agreed that it’s too early to talk about gun control legislation.

“We do much better work when we allow the haze to clear,” Rounds said. “Most people I’ve talked to and visited with have been more focused on victims and their families right now and we’ll start out by offering our condolences to the families and those who are injured. Then, let’s get the facts about what happened and determine how this individual obtained the firearms. Did he have mental issues? Let’s get the facts.”

Republicans have often argued that the perpetrators of mass shootings are already lawbreakers, and that new laws aren’t necessary and wouldn’t be effective.

This time, however, the GOP is up against the largest mass shooting in history, which prompted Democrats to call on Congress to immediately to something to reduce gun violence.

“To my colleagues: Your cowardice to act cannot be whitewashed by thoughts and prayers,” tweeted Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., who has been pushing gun control since the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012. “None of this ends until we do something to stop it.”

Gov. John Kasich: I May Leave the GOP If It’s Not Fixed

Gov. John Kasich held on till the bitter end of the Republican primary last year in hopes he might score a million to one chance at wresting the nomination from Donald Trump.

Alas, it wasn’t to be, in large part because the historically wide field ensured that everyone did his level best to knock the others out of the race and clear the field for Trump.

But that certainly won’t be the case in 2020 and maybe not even in 2024.

That may be why Kasich has been making increasingly provocative statements of late that hint at the possibility of a primary run or a third party run for the White House.

With plenty of centrist Republicans and Democrats disenchanted both with the Trump administration and the leftist Democrat Party, a center party may be in the cards.

Here’s more from Axios…

“If the party can’t be fixed … I’m not going to be able to support the party. Period. That’s the end of it … But have I given up? No,” Ohio Gov. John Kasich said to CNN’s Jake Tapper Sunday.

The bottom line: Kasich has been one of President Trump’s most vocal opponents within the party, and some point to him as a likely primary challenger in 2020. But Kasich seems to be toying with the idea of leaving the GOP entirely — though he said for now he remains committed to trying to change it from within.

Nearly 500 Criminal Aliens Arrested in ICE Sting

President Trump promised a crackdown on illegal immigration and a crackdown is what we got.

Just a few weeks ago the Department of Homeland Security announced the launch of a multi-city sting operation that would target urban areas providing sanctuary for illegal aliens in violation of federal law.

And the administration wasn’t joking.

In a four-day sting this week, ICE agents arrested nearly 500 criminal illegal aliens who were being given sanctuary in various cities.

Of those arrested, a majority had criminal records, many had already been deported at least once before, and others were fugitives or gang members.

We call that a successful operation.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Nearly 500 criminal illegal aliens were arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in a four-day operation in sanctuary city jurisdictions, which shield illegal aliens from deportation.

Known as Operation Safe City, ICE agents detained a total of 498 illegal aliens living in sanctuary cities who violated U.S. immigration laws; have criminal convictions or pending criminal charges; are known gang members, immigration fugitives; and those who re-entered the U.S. after already being deported, according to ICE officials.

Illegal aliens who are currently shielded from deportation by the Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program were not targeted in the operation, though those individuals will become eligible for deportation as their temporary protected status expires over the next two years.

Of the illegal aliens arrested:

  • 317 had criminal convictions
  • 68 are immigration fugitives
  • 104 are previously deported criminal aliens
  • 18 are gang members or affiliates

The sanctuary cities targeted in the operation included:

  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (107)
  • Los Angeles, California (101)
  • Denver, Colorado (63)
  • Massachusetts statewide (50)
  • New York City, New York (45)
  • Portland, Oregon (33)
  • Cook County, Illinois (30)
  • Baltimore, Maryland (28)
  • Santa Clara County, California (27)
  • Washington, D.C. (14)

Epic: Hillary Dings Trump on Puerto Rico, Benghazi Survivor Responds

Hillary is trying her best to re-insert herself into the national conversation, perhaps in hopes that someone might consider her finally as presidential.

To that end, this week she tweeted a critique of how the Trump administration is handling aid to Puerto Rico arguing that they should “send the Navy…these are American citizens.”

That’s when Benghazi survivor Kris “Tanto” Paronto delivered the smack-down of all epic smack-downs:

“Wish u had that sense of urgency while u were watching the ISR feed during our 5th firefight in B-ghazi. Or did u not consider us Americans?”

Here’s more from Redstate…

Kris “Tanto” Paronto is one of the security contractors who was on the ground in Benghazi during the terrorist attack Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the rest of the Obama administration ignored and later lied about to the families of the fallen. (If you’ve seen the Michael Bay movie 13 Hours, Paronto is the guy played by Pablo Schreiber.) He didn’t let Hillary Clinton’s hypocrisy go unchallenged this week on Twitter.

Responding to pictures of hurricane-devastated Puerto Rico, private citizen and professional victim Hillary was pretending to be in charge of something other than her own email server. She was just one of the many voices attempting to exploit Puerto Rico’s disaster to score political cheap shots with misleading criticism of the Trump administration’s response.

Oh really, Hillary? Is that what you would do? Your track record on this kind of thing isn’t exactly stellar.

Enter Kris Paronto:

Hillary Clinton: ‘Women Must Vote For Women’

Hillary Rodham Clinton is still campaigning, er, um, on her book-excuse tour across America (and Canada) in hopes someone will begin to take seriously her many explanations and accusations for why she lost to Donald Trump.

In what is one greatest ironies, the book has its title emblazoned across the top “What Happened” below which is printed “Hillary Clinton”.

It’s the first time a question and its answer were so succinctly printed on the cover of a book.

But now Hillary is propounding her latest argument: that women sold her out.

You see, according to liberal divide-and-conquer theory, voter blocs should always vote the way their political masters tell them.

And as such, women should always vote for (liberal) women. Right.

Here’s more from Redstate…

The latest theme emanating from the left, particularly the angry, ugly feminist part of the left as epitomized by Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama, is that women who decided to take a chance and vote for Donald Trump rather than for a corrupt, paranoid, megalomaniacal and incompetent Hillary Clinton somehow betrayed themselves.

The second level is when I see women — and look, it’s predominantly white women. Let’s just be clear about that. I won women. I lost white women, though I got more white women’s votes than President Obama did in 2012. So this is an ongoing challenge. But when I see women doing that, I think why are they publicly disrespecting themselves?

She also loves to quote a conversation she had with Facebook’s CEO Sheryl Sandberg who warned her that women would hate her for sleeping her way to the top her many, many accomplishments and because they do what men tell them to:

“Sheryl ended this really sobering conversation by saying that women will have no empathy for you, because they will be under tremendous pressure – and I’m talking principally about white women – they will be under tremendous pressure from fathers and husbands and boyfriends and male employers not to vote for ‘the girl.’”

Pelosi Suffers Another Brain Freeze, Mutters ‘Oh God’ to Self

Democrat House boss Nancy Pelosi has been experiencing an increasingly frequent number of brain freezes during her many public appearances.

And questions of her competence are no longer just whispers among her colleagues.

During a press conference this week on aid to Puerto Rico, a reporter through her a curveball question about gun control.

She clearly wasn’t ready for it, which was obvious when her immediate reaction was to mutter “Oh god” to herself which was picked up on audio.

She went to detail her opposition to unregulated silencers before hitting the brain freeze which played out like a skipping vinyl record.

But it’s no wonder.

Her septuagenarian status added to the increasing difficulty of having to justify liberal illogic makes for incomparable synaptic hurdles.

Here’s more from American Mirror…

Nancy Pelosi wanted to talk about a bailout for Puerto Rico today, but a reporter wanted her opinion on “gun legislation” moving through Congress instead.

The House Minority Leader couldn’t hide her disdain for — or fear of — the question.

While addressing reporters today, Pelosi muttered “oh God” into a hot mic while a reporter was asking about the bill.

“Madame Leader, I’d like to get your thoughts on some gun legislation moving toward the floor…” the reporter began.

“Oh God,” Pelosi said.

“Yeah,” she muttered to herself when the reporter said the bill would “deregulate silencers and undermine concealed carry laws.”
